Peter Corbett Fine Art Photography

My all new website - 1st March 2014 - Visit my Portfolio to see lots of new work!

With the advent of the Peter Corbett Fine Art Photographic Gallery my business has somewhat evolved. My Fine Art Printing operation will soon be housed in my gallery and I will work from this consolidated workspace.

So it was time for a complete redesign to accommodate my new activities and display lots of new work - comments on any aspect would help!

Vintage Silver

As an introduction to my ALL NEW website I have revived 10 images that were taken by me between 1978 – 1983. Nine of these were taken with a Wista 4x5 view camera using a Schneider Super Angulon 90mm Copal shutter lens - the Image “Thaw..." was taken with a Roliflex twin lens reflex.

All were shot on Kodak Tri-X 400 ASA film, processed and printed by myself on Oriental Seagull G-2 Bromide photographic paper. The images were submitted to The Royal Photographic Society (Bath UK) and I received my first (and only) distinction L.R.P.S (Licentiateship).

These are the only surviving images from thousands of photographs I took between 1963  - to my knowledge - and 1995 when I took up digital photography – none of the prints have survived. These negatives were scanned in 2000 and have never been printed apart from proofs (inkjet) by me to verify the quality, apart from one Inkjet print I did (Springtime) for my oldest friend Bill Thompson before I left to live in South Africa.

The images were shot in the UK were I lived until 2004, the locations are all from the North East  (where I was born and grew up) and the Lake District in England.
