Hay Bluff & Twmpa

I live 15 mins drive away from Gospel Pass and the Black Mountains. Although I do travel and shoot in many other locations for my landscape photography work, I am a regular visitor to this area. I use the opportunity of living close by to exercise and hike, and of course take photographs. Hay Bluff and Twmpa never disappoint, I am up there in all weathers and times of the day – and sometimes night.

I recently bought a drone and have been learning to fly and shoot digital video, and video editing. This is my first attempt at a visual story – don't be too harsh on me, Im still a novice.

We have had some wonderful weather conditions recently with a recent amazing sunrise; I was there on Twmpa as the sun came up...

Lovely video and beautiful countryside, Peter. Brings back old memories for me, driving the scenic narrow rural roads of Europe. Great to see you expanding into videos. I hope to see more soon.

Thanks David, the roads can be very attractive and cute, they can also be a pain sometimes.

Well done Peter. Ian and I walk up Hay Bluff/Tumpa and beyond most weeks and it was interesting to see it from a different viewpoint. We shall look forward to seeing more from you especially those early morning sunrises!

Well done Peter - I reckon there are a great many so-called "professional You-tubers" who would be very proud to be able to put up a video of this quality, sensitivity and flow. Congratulations ........... I'm forwarding it on to a whole bunch of my ex-pat friends to make them a little homesick.

Hi Peter,

Think its great to experiment with photography and move out to new ideas. Audio visual can give a lovely feel to photography.

I really love your landscape photographs, they give a beautiful feeling and recreate what it feels like to actually be there and experience the environment.

I am not too sure about drones. Its fine if only one person is doing this on known special occasions but can be quite invasive for other people working or walking there and extremely scary for any horse riders. Maybe spoiling the peace for others?

Enjoying the camera club extending its boundarys such as mobile phones and other images

Thanks Ros.

Hi Ros, yes its really good to experiment with all types of image making as you say, I really enjoy technology and learning new things. I agree that there are all types of annoying, invasive activities out there and one should always be careful to respect others and their choices. In life there are all sorts of nuisance people doing things one may not like, motorbikes charging over the hills, small low-flying aircraft, dogs running around the mountain jumping up at strangers and crapping all over the place in our streets. Where I live in Hay there are regular horse riders trotting down the narrow streets, their riders not stopping or taking into account local drivers, then regularly dumping 10…

Would love to have witnessed more close-ups, moisture on the grass, muddy boots, your hands on-camera. The lushness, intimate details and get a 'whiff' of the soil kinda footage. 'Twas very entertaining nevertheless. Thanx, Peter..!
